The basics
What is the USSSA Individual Player Membership?
It's an annual membership that gives every USSSA tournament player their own official registration, individual insurance coverage, and access to a member benefits network. Think of it as your player's personal USSSA card — verified, insured, and loaded with perks.
Who does this apply to?
The IPM applies to players competing in USSSA-sanctioned tournament events in Baseball and Girls Fastpitch. Recreational and non-tournament league players are not affected — the league and rec model remains in place as it always has.
Is this mandatory?
Not yet — but it will be. Starting August 10, 2027, individual player registration is required for all USSSA tournament participants. Players who are not registered will not be eligible to compete in USSSA-sanctioned tournament events beginning in 2028.
Pricing & timing
How much does it cost?
The early bird price is $30 per player, available December 1-15, 2026 only. That is 25% off the $40 standard price. After the early bird closes, pricing returns to the standard rate.
What does the $30 early bird include?
Everything in the standard membership - official USSSA player registration, individual player accident insurance, age and identity verification, and your digital member card - plus coverage for the entire 2028 season and 8 extra months of member benefits on top. Benefits start the day you register, not when the season does.
When does the early bird end?
December 15, 2026. It runs for two weeks only. A second early-bird window follows at a slightly higher price, so the first two weeks are the lowest this membership will be.
If I register now, am I covered right away?
Yes. Your player's member benefits activate immediately upon registration. There is no waiting period for benefits access.
Insurance & verification
What does the player insurance cover?
Individual player accident insurance covers your child for the USSSA competitive season. Coverage details are provided at registration. This is separate from team-level insurance.
What is age and identity verification, and why is it required?
All registered players go through a secure verification process to confirm their identity and age. This protects fair competition across USSSA events — making sure age divisions mean what they say and every player competes on a level field. The process is fast, secure, and handled entirely through the registration platform.
Is my child's information safe?
Yes. The platform uses industry-standard encryption and security protocols. Verification documents are processed in real time and never stored. USSSA takes player data privacy seriously.
Member benefits
What kind of discounts are included?
Members get access to exclusive discounts from USSSA's partner network — equipment brands, sporting goods retailers, training services and more. Benefits are updated regularly throughout the year, and the full list is in your member dashboard once you register.
When can I start using the discounts?
Immediately upon registration. You don't have to wait for the season to start — member benefits are active from day one.
Directors & coaches
Do directors or coaches need to do anything differently?
No major changes. You still register your teams the same way. The IPM runs alongside current team registrations during the soft launch — your job is to let your families know about the program and encourage early registration.
What happens to team registration fees?
Team registration remains in place. The IPM is an individual player fee that runs separately. Directors receive a per-player credit for every player in their state who registers through the IPM program.
